News for the 2012 Season
The SCBA has learned that the City of Pigeon Forge will be preparing 3 fields at a different site to continue play for the 2012 season (while planning and work continues for the new park). They intend to pursue programs from t-ball age through 10 years old. Both baseball and softball will be supported. Most likely, we were told, a draft will be utilized in some form to create teams to play (beginning with the 2012 season) in hopes of having better competition among all teams.
The City Council has voted for the City of Pigeon Forge to oversee its own baseball/softball programs from this point forward. The City wanted/needed more control than in past years due to shortened timelines, temporary field conditions, and the desire to make certain changes felt necessary by the City.
Plans at the present time do not include the SCBA in any future involvement with the t-ball, baseball, and softball programs in Pigeon Forge. Board members from last year's SCBA would like the community and all past participants to know how much we've appreciated your support over the last 24 years, and we express sincere thanks for your confidence and involvement.
Please watch for more news about the upcoming season as released by the City of Pigeon Forge.
